Thanjavur is a city which is centered in South India of Tamil Nadu. Thanjavur is filled with various religions, arts, and architecture along with the great Brihadishvara Temple, located in the center of the city. Peruvudaiyar Kovil, also known as Thanjai Periya Kovil, is one of the largest Hindu temples, which is styled in the Hindu Dravidian way and it is wholeheartedly dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is built in the South bank of the Cauvery River, by the great Rajaraja Chola between the years of 1009 and 1010 CE.

The researchers have found it hard to believe that it cannot be built within this little amount of time, not even with the technologies that have been used these days. The researchers are surprised and they have said that it will take more than just a decade to build this temple using their advanced technologies.

The Kalasam alone can weigh up to 80 ton of granite stone. This whole temple has been built without any technologies or machines like Lorries, trucks, and cranes but relied only on human strength. To build such Kalasam, the engineers have made a slope which is about 10 kilometers distance. Without any further excuses, Rajaraja Cholan has constructed this temple without any equipment that is presented today and he brought those stones from Vindhiyamalai and Gujarat by putting a lot more effective.

The paintings and statues are still alive from the day they are crafted in this temple. Now it has become one of the most traditional symbols and it draws the attention of many spiritualists and tourists from all around the world. This temple still contains a lot of mysteries that are yet to be found.
